Is that a clematis??? Every year I had clematis climbing over the fence around my land in Indiana. When we moved to Florida last year I planted my Indiana plants and everything died. Now I have "foreign" plants (to ME they're foreign) but I miss my clematis and marigolds most of all.

Yes that is a clematis. Maybe there are varieties that would work in your area. Might try the greenhouse to see.
