The Art of the Steal
You must check this independent movie out, "The Art of the Steal". B told me about it so I watched it Thursday on the instant play on NetFlix. Oh my goodness, for those art lovers it is very interesting. It is a documentary about The Barnes Collection estimated to be worth over $25 Billion, yes, BILLION! It has Cezanne, Monet, Modigliani, Picasso, Van Gogh, Renoir, Matisse, etc... Amazing collection that was not offered to the public for viewing. It was amassed by Albert C. Barnes, a co-developer of an early antimicrobial drug called Argyrol. The house was located in a residential neighborhood (not unlike our Philbrook Museum in Tulsa) and became a school for artists. Take time and watch the movie. This is the trailer.
