ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful blanket. It looks just like one my gramma made for me before I was born :) I still have it some 35 years later...nothing beats homemade! I wish I could crochet, knit, sew...anything!

ReplyDeleteI'm pregnant with #3 now. I got a beautiful hand crocheted blanket off Craigslist for $8 when I was pregnant with #2. (I know! $8 won't pay for the yarn!) Anyway, #1 claimed the blanket I got for #2, so now I need one for #2, and then I'll need to find another one for #3. I need to quit having kids for a while so I can catch up :)
I still have the pink afghan my grandma made for me when I was born. It's adult-sized, though. And very, very pink :)
I have a friend who is pregnant, this would be a great shower gift.

I have a very dear friend who is having her first baby (while I, on the other hand, have produced 4 contributions to the human race a long time ago.) There is nothing better for a new one then a warm, snuggly blanket, especially one that has been made by a Mom. Every stitch in a handmade blanket is filled with love and dedication, and I believe that those feelings are passed on to the babe that finds comfort in it. Very nice work, Jill. And so very nice of you to offer to give it to a new member of Planet Earth.
