Old Friends

I was checking out my Facebook friends, which I do many times a day, when I thought I would look at my high school friends and see what was up with them.  I have found that you have to look at Friend Status on the left side to see a better look without the "LIKE" pages.  I have also created a listing status on my high school friends.  A few weeks ago I stayed in town from the cabin to have dinner with some of my fellow classmates, one of which doesn't live here and the special occasion was to see him.  Joey used to live in my neighborhood and I even went to grade school with him.  It was a great evening visiting with him but when we first greeted each other I noticed his speech was weird.  He said that the doctors don't know what is wrong and they've done tons of testing.  Well, that was all I knew until this week when I checked the friend status.  Joey had posted that doctors have determined he has ALS or Lou Gehrig disease.  My heart is just broken.  Joey is not married anymore and has no children and lives very far away from his family.  I hope he has someone to take care of him or moves here to be with family.  He is such a nice guy and I've known him nearly my entire life.  Please keep Joey in your thoughts as he battles this horrific disease.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Yes, moving to family at a time like this is good.

Praying for your friend.

Love the pictures of the roses and the wagon wheel. Yeah, you need to paint that!

Hope you are feeling better.
