Fireworks...not good!

Today is the end of the Blogging Anniversary Giveaway and you have until midnight to comment HERE to enter.  PLEASE leave a valid email or way to contact you.

This weekend, the 4th of July, Independence Day is also an anniversary that I want to acknowledge but truly don't want to celebrate.  Oh, I might want to celebrate the fact that The Hubby is 100% fine after a harrowing ordeal.  On July 5, 2008 I was feeling fine but not too happy with the fireworks day and in this post I was having my concerns and rightly so.  The Hubby was injured during the fireworks show in 2008 and this weekend we will again be faced with being around the stuff again, but all we have to do now is write a check and hand it to the "professionals."  I never want to do that ICU thing again, EVER! Three days intubated, lying in the ICU burn unit, nurses, doctors, ICK!   Read here what we, he went through because of fireworks.  I will say it again.  I HATE FIREWORKS!  Wish they were banned.

My husband refuses to do a 4th of July without fireworks. I have talked him into one of those $10 packages this year and hopefully he doesn't have any more stockpiled away somewhere...hmmmm...He is so into fireworks that he proposed to me during a fireworks extravaganza. I'm not quite as into them ;-)

I think I'm already entered into your awesome giveaway (I hope)

Wow-sure does sound like a scary experience! I don't like a lot of fireworks either -if we do some we usually get a small amount -And none of those "chasers" -I hate those! Mostly I like to look at the pretty ones -from faarr away though :)

I'm with you completely! We have the same problem here in Hawaii at the 4th and New Years, more so at New Years! People are really into firecrackers and they keep getting injured. What upsets me the most are the children. It makes my blood boil everytime. They're been trying to ban it for the last 30 years and nothing has happened.

Fireworks are a nightmare. I don't celebrate with them.

I had no idea about your husband's 2008 accident. I don't blame you at all for not liking fireworks.
