Jenks Football

I usually don't have a lot to say about high school football but today I will have to voice a little.  Ever since my girls were in high school, not at Jenks, I have heard rumors that players were "shipped" in to play for the top two schools in the state.  That they were given housing/bills paid, etc. so that the teams were set up with top notch players to win the state championships.  Well, today the rumors are much more than rumors according to the news and newpapers.  I knew it, I knew it.  It was just too good to be true.  I am very sorry for the schools and the kids for the missteps of the adults.  It is a shame and does not show good leadership at all.  We'll see how this all pans out won't we.  Jenks Football

I think the deal is bad. Jenks is obviously trying to sweep the matter under the rug with their "voluntary suspensions" and such. I wonder what else has not been divulged.

They are saying "mistakes were made", bull corn, they had a pattern of cheating and then covering up the cheating.

Their credibility is zero to me.

We live in the Union School District. Our son has autism and we couldn't get him the help he needs. So we are spending our own money on private school.
In the meantime nothing but the best for the football team because they want to compete with Jenks.

Ironically it will be the kids, football players, and others who will suffer because of the stupidity of the supposed grownups.

Its time for some house cleaning and soul searching at Jenks. Union and the other powerhouses need to think about what they are doing and where it is leading.

That is terrible! I wish sports didn't have such a huge following. It causes nothing but trouble and puts education on the back burner.

It's really a terrible shame. What kind of lesson is this for the kids?

It is HIGH SCHOOL football. You live in the district, you can try out to play on the team. Remember when that was the way it was?

You don't get recruited. Hello? Where did this all go so wrong?

I hate that sports (football, basketball, etc) have become so important in Oklahoma. (and other states)

I feel sorry for the kids.
